why does the 430 sound soo good !!!!!

Was out for a cruise yesterday in the 430 top down and it just sounds soo great. Ferrari really did an amazing job on this car. The sound is intoxicating

A quick slip from my cell phone

Flat plane cranks will do that. As good as the 430 sounds, it's not even on my top 10 best sounding Ferraris list. Listen to a F40 LM, or a F50 with a Tubi, or a 333SP, or a 355 with no cats. They sound insane....

Nice vid by the way.

As sinistr mentioned, its the flat crank!

Must agree, the 430s sound is intoxicating. Especially on lift off!

The sound is absolutely addicting - I can't get enough of the Tubi in my 360

Likely because a 180 degree 'flat' crankshaft, though naturally balanced, creates more vibration than the more commonly used 90 and 120 degree weighted designs. The performance benefits aren't worth it to the average manufacturer. The low inertia flat-crank is one reason why Ferrari motors rev so fast.

Two completely different sounds.

To my ear, a 360 Tubi sounds way better than either stock 430 or 430 with Tubi.

If you like the way it sounds with the exhaust flaps open...you should consider upgrading to valve-less tips. Imagine that WOT sound even at lower RPM's...
