Luca out as Ferrari Chairman

Multiple news sources are reporting the Luca di Montemezolo will leave his post as Chairman of Ferrari effective October 13, 2014.

Apparently there was disagreement as to the relationship between parent company Fiat (now FCA) and Ferrari, with FCA wanting to bring Ferrari more into the fold. Plus the Scuderia's F1 performance in recent years has been dismal.

Should Ferrari remain exclusive, or fill the world like Lamborghini has done?

Ferrari should most certainly remain exclusive. Nothing against Lamborghini, but they do not have the race heritage that is Ferrari.

The issue that needs addressing is the Scuderia. Where Luca dropped the ball was his insistence that the Scuderia to the extent possible, employ only Italians. Thus we got that nice chap Stefano Domenicali when Ross "retired". I am sure that Stefano is a wonderful human being. Unfortunately, he was not the person to lead the team. Ross should have replaced Jean Todt, not Stefano.

The Scuderia, should always employ only the best regardless of nationality.
