Hi all,

I want to first thank everyone who to come out for the July lunch get-together. It was great to make some new friends (Chris, Jon, John, Eric and the Corvette crew) and catch up with old ones. We had an excellent turn-out, the largest yet, in spite of mid-summer sun & heat; not to mention last minute change in venue. So, a big thank you!

Secondly, I want to take this opportunity to announce the creation of Autosport Club South Florida. Autosport Club SFL is an informal automotive club based in South Florida, and the club's primary mission is to connect automotive and motorsport enthusiasts through monthly social events. Our monthly lunch get-together is open to owners of all makes, models and vintage. Friends and family members are always welcomed to spectate. Through out the year, Autosport Club SFL plans to organize road trips, charity drives and social outings. For those interested in motorsports, we will be promoting up-coming auto-x, HPDE and professional racing events.

Hey V-996TT... I post an announcement on 6speed each every month under subject line of "S. Florida - Lunch at Hooters...". Since we had a big turn-out this month, I decided to move this to lunch @ Champps in Ft Lauderdale (right next to Hooters). TOur meet is 3rd Saturday of each month, same time, same location - no confusion. The location is pretty centrally located for enthusiasts from Miami to WPB. Our good friend, Nasty Z06, treks from Naples just about every month - I need to buy him a beer or two! This month he had 5 cars in his caravaned - he had another thread with pictures he took. From Jupiter, it's a longer drive than WPB, but that's part of the fun.. esp. if you can hook up with a caravan. Or come down once every couple months or something. We are always here and would love to have you join us.
As we move past this hot FL summer, I plan to organize poker run, drives to the west coast, BBQ/cook-outs, charity drives. So, stay tuned.
