IS there any owners of a 1984 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, or know of one here in America?
I know a few of the 200 made came to America per the rules that made the Porsche 959 available here.
Would be a badass car to drive!

There is a guy that has one in the valley here in LA. He brings it to the French /Italian car show that's held once a year at Balboa park. Pictures do this car NO justice!
I remember watching that car in the group B rallies with Arie Vatanen driving. You can import them under "show & display rules" just like a 959.
Actually you can legally import it as of this year (25 year rule) without paying any tax and easily get it titled without any special rules or conditions. In California though you would also need to pass emissions, since there the cut off is 1975.
from personal problems with a car I tried to bring over you can not bring it to California, and it's not JUST because of emissions. I know that you can bring it to Canada and then transport it here, then you run into a nightmare with insurance and what not.
Florida seems to be the best place to bring gray/black market cars, their laws are less harsh on enthusiasts.
I remember talking to an importer a couple of years back and there is a way to bring it in and register it as a kit car, it requires a trustworthy mechanic from the country you're buying from and a kit car builder that you trust in the area that you are taking it to. Long story, PM me if you're interested.
There is a reason why the cars that are here are getting top dollar, it's VERY hard/time consuming to bring a gray/black market car into the states, especially in Cali
They are not considered "grey market" anymore because it is now completely legal. That is why cars like this have appeared on ebay the last couple of years.
