Has there been any further progress / info / pictures on this wing?
Ques: When I asked the dealer about an aftermarket wing they told me I would have to up grade the whole car (skirts, front and rear) due to the car's aerodynamics... Is this wing designed differently so not to require a whole vehicle change .. or was the dealer being less than accomodating??

The actual product is on pg 1 and is ready to ship.
Lots of turbo owners upgrade various parts (spoiler, side skirts, front bumper) and they dont' all do it all at once. The dealership probrably meant that when you change one thing, you might want to add more to "complete" the look.

I am interested in a pre-painted tail. Is that possible? How much more cost and lead time would it be? Is it a swap out that I (a rookie) can do?
If pre-painted is not an option about how much should it cost at a shop?

Hi Guys,
We just finished the wing paint / install on Allen's sexy red 996 Turbo. A few observations about this wing... It did need a bit more prep work that initially anticipated due to the fiberglass being a bit wavy. That was no issue for our body specialists and these are the same guys that straightened the f.glass on my custom Z06 (Supercharged 650 whp)extractor hood so I knew the wing would look good no matter what kind of shape it showed up in. Overall, I would give this wing a thumbs up even though some prep work was required. It does look much better in person and is a nice accent to an already beautiful body line.
If you are on the fence about buying this, go for it, just be prepared to spend a few $$$'s on quality prep/paint work. Also, don't worry about not having the wing tool, take some channel locks and a 4mm bolt as the pic, wrap some cloth around the post with the bolt in place and then turn with the channel locks. The wing does not come with the tool... All it is is pretty much a mini coilover spanner wrench.

I hope that's not how you did mine.

Thanks for your feedback and your support. We always strive to make our products better. In regards to the waves in the fiberglass, did you have to add more FG or did you sand and smooth it out?

Edwin,
There was no need to add any material what so ever... Our body specialist has a very picky eye and said he just had to do some sanding/smoothing. The wing was straight, he just wanted to it be like glass before painting. Great Product!! This is the same body man that does all of my Z06 f.glass work too including spending a day block sanding my extractor hood which was a quality piece to begin with, he won't paint anything unless the piece is really ready if you know what I mean.

Allen's pics do not do it justice guys, if you are on the fence, this 996 wing is worth it and I don't feel there is a Porsche tax here... In fiberglass, you get what you pay for, if it is cheap now, you are going to pay more to your body tech to make it right, better quality product, less labor etc....
