GT2 vs GT3 RS

If money was no object which would you choose and why? I always go back and forth. I like the GT3 rs because it seems more pure but the the gt2 has more power and from some threads I've read on here handles just as well. Watch ya think?

The RS just seems like it is closer to a race car than the gt2. It sacrifices more creature comfort for performance. Maybe thats just in my head.

I would hands down pick the GT2, but I do agree that the RS is more pure and raw in terms of it's performance. Higher revving and N/A come to mind first. But that's just the way it is for Turbo vs N/A. Doesnt make it more fun, just more pure in terms of feeling.

At the same time I think the US RS is for showing off more than it is performance over the base GT3. To bad they didnt make a 997 RS equivalent to the 996 Euro RS. I'm surprised they didnt keep the sunroof in the USDM RS. They sure didnt do much else to differentiate it other than bright colors and a big wing.

For this reason the GT2 by a mile.

The GT-R is harder to drift than a 997 TT or 997 GT3, therefore if you are trying to drift, the GT-R will consequently get a faster lap. Normal apexing and driving not included.

See Evo and Car magazine for details.

The RS is a great car, but the GT2 feels just like the RS inside, and in steering feel, shifter, balance and brakes. The difference is you rev the RS a little higher to achieve a certain speed, whereas you rev lower to do the same in the GT2. If you rev to the same rpm, you will be going WAY too fast on the same strip of road. That does not mean I don't do it, though.

The RS wins in the looks dept in that it looks hot in the wild colors with the decals and wheels, but the GT2 can look just menacing and purposeful, so its a tossup and a personal preference.

In terms of driving, the GT2 gives up a slight throttle response at very low rpm (under 2000) but more than makes up for it with searing thrust that builds as the rpm rises and never quits up to redline, and a built-in Launch Control that is a fun asset to have. That speed in intoxicating. I doubt anyone that has both in their garage will have much reason to drive the RS once they get their GT2.
