The attention this car gets is rediculous! It's like my GT3 is invisable ;-)
My garage was sitting open yesterday and people just ring the door bell asking about the GTR and never mention the GT3 sitting next to for double the price.

NEXT '10? GT3 RS on order
Am I the only one that says GTR who?!?!?! I don't find anything appealing about them, I like to drive my car's, if not I would have a driver and a phantom instead of electronics

This is a very interesting thread.
I've got one of the first GTR's arriving in the UK in March (we're lagging behind on the delivery). I've also currently got a GT3 and for me it's simply the best car I've ever owned. I'm currently considering swapping my GT3 for a newer one with less mileage, but then with the GTR coming in March I often wonder if I should bother!
All I'll say is that we're privileged to be able to have such problems in our lives.
At a track day in Seattle last week we came out with a bunch of Lotus, Porsche and Lambo's and one GTR...
All I have to say is that the GTR is crazy fast... I was pushing my car to the limits, barely holding traction and he was behind me on my left, then on my right, then on my left and then by me without any effort!
I tried to catch up and on some of the switch backs I might have taken a few meters back but the way that car carries speed is insane.
Nothing and I mean nothing has ever passed me that easily...
Much respect to those GTR's, I can see why they'd be cool to have. At the same time I prefer a 911, much more a drivers car, nothing beats taking it to the limit, nailing that perfect heal-and-toe, basically driving on razors edge.. even if it's a slower car on the lap board.... Getting passed by a GTR so easily sure does sink your sails though..

I have yet to see a gTR in person but each time I see it in pics it grows on me....
Too bad you are not keeping the GTR - white and black is a stunning combo!

sat in my friend's silver one over the weekend (no plates yet, so couldn't go for a ride). my first time to see it in person, and i must say, pictures don't do it any justice.
its not a pretty car by any stretch, but what it has in spades is presence. it is mean and macho and looks a very very meaty hunk of a car. i think it would look impressive even without all the hype.
the biggest surprise was the interior. it looks awfully cheap in pictures, but in person, its really quite nice. sure its hasn't the flair and style of a purebred Euro, but to call it plasticky just isn't on (in my book). the seats are wonderfully supportive, and there's just a great solid feel about the whole thing.
thoroughly impressed. would i take it over my GT3? no. but between the GTR and a PDK 997S... hmmm...
