Selling My GT3 and getting M3

Guys I have been around for almost a Decade in the porsche world.
I injured my back three years ago and the GT cars are just more than
I can chew. I will still hang out here but i will be Porscheless tomorrow.
The M3 is fast enough Brakes suck but I can fix that. I am kind of sad
but glad I have a car I can get in and out of.

Sorry to see the change, I suspect that you will see one again in your driveway.

Sorry to hear about the GT3 issue. Your back has to be really bad but you know. Heck I'm 58 and know about a bad back and right hip to. Just to many parachute jumps.
Anyway I presume you are talking about a new M3 (E92)? Great car but certainly no GT3.
If you are ever interested in mods checkout ASR Engineering and Active Autowerke both in Miami. They are doing great things with the M3.

I love my E60 M5.

Good luck,
Ranger

Sorry to hear that the GT3 is going. I hope you get an E92 that doesn't have multiple EDC failures like my friends...when it fails, it turns into the most unforgiving suspension ever. Hope to see a P car back in the mix again.

Hey, didn't you just picked up another 335 for your wife? Why not get something different like a RS4? I remember you mentioned you like it better anyways and you do know they are heavily discounted, right?

Good luck with the M3. It's a runner, and the V8 sounds awesome.

I sold my 996 GT3 a few months ago. The reason I sold it was that I bought it to track...hell, that is what the car was made for. After 1.5 years of tracking (and about 10 overall), my priorities, "free" time, and preferences changed a bit. I did not track the car the last 1.5 years I had it, so I decided it was time to sell it and move on.

I had previously owned two E36 M3's and liked them a lot. they were good daily drivers, and capable of taking to the track. Although nowhere near the track capability of a GT3, they were still fun on the track.

I bought (ordered) a new E90 (sedan) M3 and picked it up about 3 weeks ago. I like it alot. It is NO GT3 by any means, but, it suits my needs right now. The GT3 did not. So for me, it was a good switch. I hope it works out well for you too.

The V8 is fairly impressive on the torque side. Nice and flat torque curve....I am still under break in mileage, so I have not taken the rpms too high yet, so i cannot comment on the HP, but others have said it is a beast above 6500rpm or so (much like the GT3's power curve). The car feel suprisingly light for its weight. The brakes actually are not that bad from what I have felt so far. No, they not multi-piston, but the rotors are large and "floating". They feel pretty good. Others at the track have commented that they have held up very well. Hell, there is always StopTech, etc. if I don't like them!

With all the "comfort" goodies on the car, I actually enjoy driving it daily, unlike the GT3. I think you will be pretty happy with it, just don't expect sharp turn-in from it (one of my gripes). Later, I will prolly mess with the alignment to get the turn-in a bit sharper...always things to tweak I guess.

Enjoy the M.....

OG, sorry to here your back has reached that sever degree of pain. Even at my age and the years of abuse I have inflicted on my body I am still able to crawl out of bed in the morning and after a few Ibuprofen and a hot shower am able to log in 400-500 miles of fun in the 3. Can't began to imagine the pain you are going through!! Nor can I imagine being Porscheless!

Best of luck.
