Opinions on 6pt. Harnesses (Schroth Hybrid 6pt.)

I recently bought some racing seats for my GT3 and am getting ready to order some harnesses. The ones I'm interested in are the Schroth Hybrid II (hans).

http://www.schrothracing.com/product...brid/hybrid-II

I became interested in this brand and model based on information such as this:

http://www.schrothracing.com/main/Engineering

My question is: Has anyone bought or used this type of Schroth Hybrid harness before? If so, what is your impression of them? Also, owners of OMP, other brands, and other Schroth models please feel free to chime in as well regarding your experiences.

Thanks,

Dan

Scroth belts are great and the Hybrid II is perfect for Hans...only problem is you need the GT3 seat specific ends not the snap in that are shown...the shoulder belts and sub belts need wrap around ends and slotted tensioners for the roll bar and sub mounts..the lap belts have special ends that are made specifically for the GT3 seats...I believe that Suncoast carries Scroth belts with the correct ends for GT3 seat fitment...they will save you a lot of headache...

I have the schroth profi II which is a 6 pt belt with 2 inch laps belts hans 3/2 shoulder belts the only thing different is the Sub-belt has the two lower belts that hook into a buckle that is permanent attached to the cam lock. I like it for comfort on the track and ease of getting in and out of fast. Hooking up the hybrid does take a bit longer. However having the cam lock attached to the sub bar straps is a pain when not in use you always have to position it between your legs to get it out of the way Chuck is right if you have the GT3 seats you have to either buy the seat specific
Schroth belts or buy the adapters at a place like CDOC or Rennline. One word of caution. the OE schroth belts for the GT3 seats that you can buy from the factory do not have the nice cam lock they have a crappy button lock, which, I have had to have replaced because they are sometimes hard to release. I had a passenger complain that he was worried he could not get out fast if he had to. see below:

Thank you very much for the tip on the GT3 specific ends. I wasn't aware of that. I will get in touch with my contact at Suncoast, Aaron, on this one. Not that you need it, but rep to you sir!

I have the brey-kraus sub mount bars..I have had no problem passing tech with PCA or POC with the subs and lap belts mounted to the GT3 seats...they have passed tech although some drivers prefer to mount through the tub for additional safety

I did answer the PM but will respond hear that is the Sherkwerks FE and mount. Not cheap but good looking and functional. Glad to report I did not need it last year.

I have the GT3 Schroth belts, got them from HMS Motorsports as they are close to me and I see them at many local events. They had them in stock in black too. I put non GT3 harnesses in my C2s and is was a PITA because I had to get a lot of extra parts to finish the job. I'll post pics when I finish my RS later next month. I'm going with the GT2 Euro seats from Suncoast. Thay have side airbags and I can also easily have the OEM lap belts too.
BTW, the GT3 belts have the red button because that makes them DOT street legal. An EMT arriving at a crash scene will be looking for a red button to push to release the driver.
