Totally agree.

I say the majority of us here cannot extract the full potential of a GT3 on the track, spending extra on a new GT2 is money being wasted IMHO.

i love my TT. the only main problem is that my brakes sqeal too much and that i am not conifdent about the braking in the car

also, i am getting a good price for it today and am also getting the GT's at an amazing price from the dealer

so i thought why not change and get something different....also reading the forum everyone calls the TT as the cadillac and are all praise for the GT's.....so i thought i would give it a try

i have tried bedding the brakes and they keep locking up and the dealer says there is nothing wrong with them...even when i took them for a drive

so i am tired...i am scared to even drive slow in the car

The GT2 is terribly over-priced and becoming obselete for what it pretends to be. Note that none have moved from dealer's lots in the last few months...

The GT3 is a much more engaging ride, and more like an out-and-out track car.

I think all the 911's are overpriced except the GT3. And for that matter, an optioned Cayman can push up on 100k. But whatever Porsche can and has been selling them for is what they are worth. Not much of anything is moving off of dealers lots these days, so that's not the best gauge IMO.

The GT-R is harder to drift than a 997 TT or 997 GT3, therefore if you are trying to drift, the GT-R will consequently get a faster lap. Normal apexing and driving not included.

See Evo and Car magazine for details.

If the TT scares you, don't even think about a gt2.
A properly setup gt2, or even a TT will run around almost any gt3.

The GT 2 is the only way to go. We have two now. These cars are rock solid. Put on GMG anti roll bars, lower and track align, put Hoosiers on, turn off the traction and stability and only the very best of the best will be faster. GT3's cann't keep up. Only a very good Cup car will give you a hard run, just hard enough to make things interesting. Live with the car for a year and you will never look back. A GTR or ZR1 cann't touch the GT2 on the track. We may even get a third GT2. With Porsche having the problems they have now you may not see anything better. Best of luck. Let us know which way you go.

I am not scared of the TT, i am scared driving it as the brakes are making too much noise when i drive slowly...well now it makes noises on high speed too

i love the car too much but the noise thing is getting to my nerves and i only look around to see if any one is staring at me when i am braking...

Ahhh . . . let me think for 1/10 of a second . . . GT2!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, Both cars are great, but in my opinion the only way you can compare them is to face off a 996 GT2 with a 997 GT3RS. If money is no object, there as ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON 997 TO 997. The 997 GT2 is a masterpiece.

I do however, love the 997 GT3RS. If I could afford something to keep my GT2 company, a nasty green RS would be it.

Hmm this is a very tough choice... Both great cars but really like chalk and cheese. GT2 is more settled/plusher with less movement/feedback. GT3/RS is more skittish/visceral. In a straight line the GT2 is a monster and it does handle the turns with minimal fuss too.

This might help you decide:

My heart says the RS:
