Paint protection for my CGT - any pointers from owners????

Greetings to All,

After a long strange journey that took me from a 993tt to a Ruf RTurbo 500 to a GT3Rs to a Stradale to a GT2 (with many others along the way!!!), I finally sacked up and bought a CGT. #306, silver/ascot, 2.9K miles, cherry condition, etc.

The car has a partial clearbra (1/2 hood, front bumper & mirrors), but I am worried about rock damage to the doors & fenders.

Is the consensus to clear bra the doors and rear fenders or to use the mesh grills that are available for the openings behind the front wheels? Both???

Any guidance would be most appreciated. Best regards to all!

Rob

More the merrier!

It would only help.

I'm not sure where you are located but we can help.

I have seen clear protective film covering an entire car before...

I say clear bra it, and the entire front end too

mine came with the bumper, hood, fendors, and A pillar completely wraped and the front edge of the wing too, a MUST!

also, were the mesh inserts behind the front wheels in that little air flow area stock or aftermarket options??
Mine came with them

I did the whole front end and the doors/rockers on mine, happy as a clam because it was done by Premier and their work is outstanding. I don't care for the aftermarket grills - to my eye, this is not a car that looks good when modded.

My neighbor has a Porsche GT as well and I believe he either has the whole thing done or at least half the car. I will drop by his place this weekend and take a look. Your best bet is to call Premier as others have brought up. Even if they're not local to you, I'm sure they will have answers for you.

Put up some pix while you're at it!

First off, thanks to all recommending us!!

2nd, congratulations on the new purchase Rob. The lower portion of the CGT doors are susceptible to chipping due to how they bulge out. We have installed clear bras (paint protection film) to over 20 CGTs in the past 3-4 years and have seen rock chipping to this area. Another area that is susceptible would be the rocker panels by the air intake opening. Rocks and pebbles are projected directly to this area and will end up getting some wear over time. We also recommend swapping the partial hood out to a full hood. Reason being if you get a chip beyond where the partial coverage is, you will need to get it touched up or worst repainted. Hope this helps and if you need further assistance, do not hesitate to contact us.

Stay off the freeway as much as possible and don't follow other cars too closely.
