GRATS!

With that said I just had a massive AADD attack during and after reading all this.

Add, PSM, downforce, CLs, PADM, bigger, better, lighter brakes, slightly better interior, more Alcantara when ordering full leather, countless suspension improvements, rear brake venting and the exterior features which I really dig.
All required to keep people interested in buying what is now an old platform. This list is sure to be mousenuts compared to the next gen GT3. Looking forward to next year when details start to surface. $50k to trade-up to a 997.2? No way. $70k to trade up to a 998.1? Can't wait to write the check.

Mousenuts? Maybe, but I don't think it'll be mousenuts. The 991/998 GT3 will be a better platform, but it won't be leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessor. PDK will be available, if one wants that.

I agree with your position considering that you have a GT3 now. I am Porsche-less at the moment and do not want to wait until 2012 for the 991 GT3. Considering that the 991 Carreras will not likely debut until the fall of 2011 as MY2012, I see no reason that the next GT3 will be here any sooner than late 2012.

Like, you, I'll be then waiting then for the 99X, as I'll have a .2 3 to hold me over.

Congrats on the new GT3. Once you get behind the wheel you may never think about the turbo again.

Tinker is an unknown quantity at this point
Congrats on your latest purchase. Nicely optioned and looks good. So did you grind them down to $116k from the $133k sticker?

I'm interested to read your impressions after driving it vs. the turbo.

Enjoy,

Tinker

$116 -- I wish Porsche of Olmsted was fair and very easy to discuss price with. It wasn't just their price that sold me, as I had other opportunities elsewhere with larger %'s off MSRP. I felt comfortable that they'd take good care of me pre- and post-sale, so I was willing to pay a little more for that.

All:
I will draft a new thread with pics, link to a vid, and a more thorough review. In the meantime, this is just a quick update on some first impressions:
* Porsche of Olmsted was great -- everything was ready for me, car was safe and snug on the showroom floor as I requested, got the red carpet treatment, would definately do business with them again
* Exterior -- more badazz than in the pics. I especially LOVE the looks of the PCCBs -- almost worth the $9K for the visual appeal (almost)
* Interior -- sport seats with the carbon fiber backs are phenominal. A little difficult with ingress and egress, but once you're in...awesome. I can adjust the forward/aft movement but not the incline -- which is fine, because the seating position is perfect.
* Drivability - Even in sport setting with the hardest suspension setting the car is quite comfortable. I was expecting it to ride like being on a red wagon (feeling every bump in my spine) but it's not like that.
* Engine -- wow. gobs of power, lots of noise and rumble, and the engine screams like a Porsche should.
I wish I had bypassed the turbo and had gone straight to the GT3. To each is own -- I'm just much of of a GT3 guy and didn't know it until now.
I can't be more pleased with the car. Again, I'll update with a more thorough review in a new thread.
