Dumb question - weight of stock 996 GT2?

Folks-

I hope that I am not abusing my privileges here. Porsche listed the weight as ~3140 lbs, PCA club racing lists the weight as 3325 (with driver - probably something like 3175 without). We just weighed a friend's completely stock (with air conditioning, everything, no mods) at the track. The scales were calibrated. His car weighed 2912 lbs with about a 1/4 tank of gas (no driver).

Do they vary that much? Has anyone on this list weighed a stock 996 GT2, and if so, what did you find?

Sorry for the waste of bandwidth. Thanks - Gerry

Your buddies car at 2912 is not completely stock, or the scale at the track is off.

3168 lbs is the official weight for a stock 996 GT2 U.S. version with no fuel, all tools and floor mats.

With a full tank of fuel it goes up to 3,272 lbs.

There are minor variations on weight for the 996 GT2, depending on options, but very minor variations, as all the cars came standard with full leather and PCCB. If the car came with memory seats, add 10 lbs. The 2004 car is 8 lbs lighter.

Either those scales are way off, or that GT2 has a major load of modifications.

My 997 GT3 RS (way lighter than a 996 GT2), hit the scales at 3,250 lbs with 3/4 of a gas tank, LW seats, PCCB, some suspension upgrades, rear TC Design bar, harnesses, fire extinguisher, no tools.
