997.1 gt3

I've been following these prices and they seem to be rising at a reasonably brisk pace. I looked at one yesterday, it's advertised here, red car 17k miles, nice options, sport chrono, no premium sound and it really caught my eye. The car is no hit, no paint, no track time. I really discovered I like the 997 cars after giving this one a good look over.

I have a 996 GT3 car and this one seems much more refined, and I don't mean that negatively. I've read that there is a suspension adjustments that make it a bit more street friendly than my current 996 car. The styling on the 997 seems to just right as I was never a fan of the shared boxster style headlights on my current car, not that I am selling it.

I looked at a 991 GT3, a few times and really wanted to want to buy one, and it is a amazing, I had a couple of issues. First, it seems really big compared to the previous few generations and I didn't really have an appreciation for that. Second, I know I'm probably making too much of this, I couldn't get past the PDK for a car that I just want to drive to enjoy and forget my day-to-day stresses.

I'm completely smitten with the 997 styling and of course, since it's a GT3, the engine is just awesome. The sounds, the 8400 RPM red line, the grip. I know the .2 car is a few more ponies and some other upgrades but this one is 10 mins from my house. At first I thought I really wanted white or silver but the red really got. I guess I'm somewhat mesmerized by it now and am really looking for advice.

So here it is. Are the 997.1 cars really a good place to be with a Porsche? Are they still a reasonable value? Not that that is all that important, I'm not looking at it as an investment but I don't want to over pay. I just want to get a reasonable deal on a nice car. I can get the car for a smidge under 100, no paint work, new rubber, no over revs at any range on the DME (too bad for the previous owner not enjoying it). Anyone offer any thoughts? I didn't wake up yesterday thinking I was dumping 100k on yet another car, but like a siren I'm drawn to it. I hope this one is a fair deal or I just snap out of it, the latter not likely.

Here is the car. If someone has a lead on something that's potentially better, I'm all ears. Oh, here's the worst part, my wife already said I can have it. I don't really need permission but it certainly lowers my inhibition level knowing I don't have to explain myself later. Thanks again 6speed community.

Found my 997.2 GT3

I found an 11K mile, OEM Carbon Race Seat, and PCCB spec'd 997.2 GT3. I'm in love. This is my 3rd GT3. I previously owned a 997.1 and a 991. This 997.2 is my favorite model!
