rear muffler bracket removal for bypass pipes?

rear muffler bracket removal for bypass pipes?
I installed a GMG rear bypass pipe on my 07 GT3. When I did I removed the rear muffler bracket as this is so lite and didn't appear to work with those brackets. Is this a legitimate thing or should i reinstall?
