I am considering adding cat bypass pipes and a fabspeed exhaust to my '05 stock Gallardo. Do I need an ECU tune, or will the car run lean or worse with these mods??

The car will run just fine with those mods....but....adding an ECU tune will only make it that much better!
We run the EVOMSit software on our '05 e-gear G with cat-bypass and Tubi. The difference in the car is enormous! If you need help sourcing any of those parts feel free to let me know. We'll give you some extra Florida lovin'

You can do just the bolt on hardware upgrades and see a nice gain in power and sound but if you do the the software ECU tune upgrade on top of that, you will see a bigger HP and TQ gain and will really improve the feel and response of the car. We use EVOMSit for all of our tuning needs and we have done a few Gallardo's and it really made a night and day difference. PM or give me a call directly if you have any questions are interested and I will get a package together for you with a nice member discount.

I dont have the ECU tune to my car, I cannot find enough data to support the cost. But I do have the Fabspeed muffler kit on my G and it sounds MEAN. Capristo and Larini seem to lean towards a Ferrari sound where as the FS system just sounds loud and angry. No real drone issues either.

An ECU tune alone will yield about 25hp on the G. Together with the exhaust you'd see about 40-45 hp increase. In our shop '05 e-gear, it's certainly noticeable! Another great benefit of the software is the increased throttle response, as well as the ability to use higher octane race fuel for even more increases.
