So I got new wheels for my Gallardo...

I purchased new wheels for my Gallardo and now I'm getting the 4WD light on the dash.

I appreciate any help!!

IForged Wheels:
20 x 8.5
20 x 11

Nitto INVO Tires:
235/30/20
305/25/20

I even mesuare the total diameter of the wheels and I measure right around 26 inches which it should be right.

Could be an issue with the weight or the relationship between the fronts and rears. The awd systems are very sensitive on these cars and being "right around" the factory specifications really won't cut it. The car will compensate for the difference in size with the clutch and differentials and it will cause wear in both areas. Does the light still come on with the traction control off? That could be a partial solution but it will not keep the wheels from damaging the car.

From Nitto's site:

235/30-20 Invo = 25.71"
305/25-20 Invo = 25.94"

According to Pirelli's site which should be your OEM tires:

235/35-19 Pirelli = 25.2"
295/30-19 Pirelli - 26"

Your front tires might be too tall. I am no expert in AWD systems, just figured I would point that out as a possible problem.

I think SW runs 245/30/20, but that seems to be worse than the 235/30.....I decided to go 19's for that very reason.

So i've researched this......it's all about the ratio of total height front/back. Soooo, stock is 235/35/19 and 295/30/19. Front to back ratio is 0.98

If you run 245/30/20 and 325/25/20, that front to back ratio is also 0.98 and will work with no issue. I know of 2 Gallardo's running this combo.

As long as the ratio is maintained there should be no issues.

For years we've been running 235/30/20 & 305/25/20 and it works out perfectly. This is closer to the specs of stock, the way the front tires are slightly shorter.

After all of the research the tire set up 235/30/20 and 305/25/20 it is so close to the stock size that the car doesn’t even know it.

235/35/19 (25.47")
235/30/20 (25.55")

295/30/19 (25.96")
305/25/20 (26.00")

The owner's manual says that the 4 WD light comes on only when the oil temperature on the front differential is too high.
It also recommends 43.5 psi on aggressive driving when over 160 MPH which I have both times that the light came on…

The light only comes on after driving the car on the highway NOT CITY for about 45 min to an hour depending on the driving...

I'll be changing the front differential fluid over the weekend and see if that solves the problem.

I believe it's more about front/rear ratio than it is about overall diameter. I know of 2 running 245/30/10 and 325/25/20
