08 Superleggera with Carbon Ceramic Brakes

Hey guys,

I am just about to pull the trigger on an amazing and gorgeous Superleggera. It is fitted with Carbon Ceramic Brakes. I drove the car yesterday and the brakes are extremely touchy. They seem to be either on or off.

My question is to all of you SL owners or G owners with CCB's....Can you get used to this braking? Can you smooth it out to a point where you can stop normally at a red light or stop sign?

I will be driving my car a few days a week and do not want to look or feel like I can't drive while rolling around town.

Are there any other things I should consider before buying a 2008 SL? Quirks, issues, problems?

Other than the brakes I am so excited for this car. I have been shopping for the right car for over a year! I want to make sure I make a good decision. I'm a little nervous that I might be blinded by the howl of the banshee!

Thanks for your feedback!

I have driven my good friends a few times and the brakes suck

Compared to zr1 vette plus the car has no torque

But they look good but I wouldn't give that kind of cash

Good luck

Yes, the brakes are extremely touchy! You can get used to them, but if you stop unexpectedly (ex. dog dashes out in front of you), the car will really jerk. I would definitely take the non-carbon ceramic brakes on this one, given the choice. However, mine's also came with the carbon ceramic brakes so I had to get used to it. On the bright side, they're awesome on the track!
