99 V8 Esprit
Wow guys, I have an 06 Aston Martin Vantage and recently bought another Esprit and didn't even realize this forum had a Lotus section! I know a few of you guys have Astons also, but thought I would jump in here and post a few pics of the car. 1999 V8 Azure Blue with Magnolia interior.

Pretty funny how a bunch of the Aston (Vantage) guys also really like or own an Esprit. I always wanted one. Neighbor with an Esprit S4 says he always wanted a Vantage...
Hmmm could it be that Bond had both?
Great color combo btw.... The Esprit is a '90s' car but besides the tech differences, what are your impressions compared to the Vantage... both are in a similar zip code power wise. Moreso interested in the road car aspects over track.

Sorry, haven't been on in a while I guess. Sorry to leave you hanging. I have owned both 4 cylinder and V8 Esprit's now and I can say with certainty that the V8 is a much better car all around... MY OPINION! I find it a bit more comfortable to drive than the 4 pot cars, and the interior is better appointed.... As compared to the Aston, which mine has almost all of the bolt on's available except headers, is a tricky proposition. The Aston is much more docile, sophisticated and refined. The Aston drives very comfortably, somewhat nimble and somewhat heavy.... The Esprit is raucous, moderately refined and quick and nimble. She will catapult you forward at 2800rpm at 14 psi and sounds thrilling doing it. The ride is somewhat bumpy, even on nearly full soft Spax adjustable suspension, the car creaks, clunks and vibrates, which the Aston does none of, but they are each amazing! The Lotus is more fun to drive to me because I have to pay attention to everything. The ASton is an awesome touring car, and love to drive it when we have a formal event to attend. I would drive the Lotus on track without hesitation, I would shudder to take the Aston to the track just because I don't want to scratch or soil her in any way......

Thanks for the feedback! Sounds right in line with what I would have figured... I have ridden passenger in a V8 Esprit, but not driven one. I think the looks of the Lotus make up for the creaks & rattles. Probably not a car your chick would enjoy, but thats not the point. I do also agree that the Vantage IMO is just too nice to flog on the track, but some do quite well with it on the track none the less.
Well a V8 Esprit is still on the automotive bucket list... as is a 355.

I assume these are the factory wheels painted(?). Did you have wheel spacers on them, because they look nice and flush with the fender. Nice car!
