Help w/fractional ownership on yachts

Has anyone done a fractional ownership on a yacht? I've never owned a boat before but always wanted to. I came across fractional ownership/lease program while I was doing some reserch online and wanted to see if anyone had any experience with it. BTW, pinnacleyachts.com is the company I'm going to check out this week. TIA

Looked at the idea some time ago and rejected it. It's just like fractional jet ownership, but not as developed. Lots of flaky, fly-by-night operations, IMO. Cheaper to outright charter, too, unless you're using the boat more than a certain number of days. That breakeven analysis varies by vessel, fees and operator.

I felt the same way about some companies I came across as well. They were mostly managed by franchise owners. Since I have no idea about boat ownership, I thought this would be a good way to get my feet wet. Charter sounds good too, I'll have to look into that. Thanks CW for your input.
