Talking Race boat I saw on the highway today!

I saw this bad boy on the highway today driving back home to Tampa. Not sure what race / event may have been going on this weekend but damnit, I missed another one!

I've been trying to get in and photograph an event for a long time now. Seems like somehow I always seem to miss them. It is right up my alley, unfathomably fast machines with ungodly amounts of horsepower. I approve!

Some quick cell phone pictures from my iPhone, this boat was MASSIVE. What a freaking beast. I held up traffic staring this thing down, it was beautiful.

How fast do you think this sucker would hit on the waters?!

If anyone has any connections in the boat racing world and they would have any interest in photography at a run in exchange for a seat on a boat, please pass my info their way. It would be severely appreciated!

- Chris

They used to have the Suncoast Offshore for many years in Sarasota on the 4th. For years I never missed it. Now it has been years since I went. Great boats to watch and ride in!

AudiDreamer is on a distinguished road
Turbine powered, I think some have upwards of 1500 HP

The boat in this video can achieve 188MPH in ideal race conditions:

Looks like fun. I'd be afraid to park that at a dock though!
