sit downs PWC's are for the ladies

all kidding aside. i don't care if the sit downs do 100mph. i lose interest in about 5 mins. there's just not much you can do on them other than smash the throttle wide open. they're just too easy to ride. it really doesn't take much skill to go out and haul ass on them as evidenced by all the retards on the rentals i see on the weekends

Hey Tommy,
If you're watching this thread, can you PM me? I'd very much like to pick your brain on waverunners, the Caribbean, and open water. And, if anyone who knows Tommy sees this, can you please pass it along? Thanks.

So are Yamahas better suited for saltwater? Is that what I gathered?

2006GT is an unknown quantity at this point
My 2006 RXT has been a blast so far. Never a problem after nearly 2 years, and always used in saltwater

I had one SD XP as my play around sit down. Since I ride only in the ocean and specialize in Big Wave jumping, that Sea Doo was crap. I had a little Yama Wave Raider which we dubbed the Tub boat cuz it towed various SD's in every day. At one point I had FOUR Sea Doo tied to me as I pulled them home thru the Palm Beach Inlet. That would have been a great advertisising shot lol.
Lil older thread but was searching for something else and saw this. Funny you mention that, I had a heavily modded Waveraider w/ engine built by Riva. Raiders are hands down the most fun and wild ski's. I too used to always be out of the Hilsboro inlet when it was rough jumping, I've lost track of how many Sea Doos had to be towed in or had problems and the Yammies just kept going and going. I've ridden newer ski's, and had a modified gp1200r as well....still no comparison. Next ski I get will be a clean Raider to build again. Its just so light and wild to ride, all the new skis feel like bloated machines now, and none will take near the abuse a Raider will in rough water jumping. I use to liken it to a Viper, just raw and mean, one mistake and it will buck your ass right off lol.
