Sport exhaust option for the TT

I heard the Cargraphics exhaust and was not really impressed. At idle it sounded like it had a leak....not very impressive. I wish someone made an exhaust that sounds like the factory sports exhaust for the N/A 996. Why doesn't the factory have a sport exhaust option for the turbo?

My dealer (The Porsche Store - Dallas) modified my exhaust so it sounds just like the sport exhaust. I believe they may have just cut out some of the baffling.

Jas.....I have yet to hear the fabspeed. Any sound bites? The euro pipe sounds good, but to me still has that hollowish sound at low rpm's. It does sound nice once on throttle though. I guess the factory sports unit on my 996 spoiled me. I miss that raspy bark..

Harry, Go to Fabspeed.com and listen to the sound bites there, Fabspeed (moderate) system here on the Turbo and love it, sounds great, as for Tubi, my father and I were at the dealer one day when they were doing the install of one on a 996TT and I can say it was a joke as far as sound, nice finish and quality but not a product I would recommend.

do the stainless tips (factory option) change the sound at all? Isn't the X50 package 'tuned' with different exhaust? Those are both factory options, although X50 can't be retrofitted, I bet the exhaust part of the package can be.

Fred, Jason is 100 % correct about Tubi system. Even their build quality has had issues trigering check engine light. The Fabspeed is lighter, will give you power and sound no question.

X50 does have a different exhaust but only slightly louder...
Dual tips are not X50 related and are availble as option X54...
