CLS only if it was a 55 or 600 or 65. These have much more potential than any 63.
a CLS63 and a CLS65 is the engine and the 600's are base bodies
MB didnt but Brabus did. I would still take the CLS55 over the C63 though and theres plenty of those to be had.
Matthew.
A... currently the CLS63 holds the record for bet 60' time. http://www.mbworld.org/forums/cls55-...cls-power.html
B... 600 base body ?
C... So your saying Mercedes/AMG did not know what they were doing when they dropped the supercharger and enlarged the motor ?
I cant wait to see what you write next ......
It's just a matter of time before parts for the 63's are widely available.

The only difference between a CLS63 and a CLS65 is the engine and the 600's are base bodies so you can install any european body kit if you wanted and Engine wise I would think its safe to assume that less than 1% of current model mercedes owners would sell or trade their car long before the engine dies. Think about it you would have to put atleast a 100-150k miles on these cars to even start thinking about the engine going bad. If you don't plan on owning the car that long then you don't have anything to worry about with either car.
I think you are mixing up the CL class with the CLS. The CL is the S class coupe. The CLS fits between the CL/S and the E class. Hope that helps

They don't make a V12 CLS (Barabus does, I think it's called the Rocket). Currently in the US I think, the CLS only comes with the 5.5L (550) and the 6.2L (AMG 63) engines. The older CLSs did have the 5.5 Supercharged.
As far as the V12s having more "potential", well I suppose... but for serious cost. And, I don't know of a whole lot of tuners working on them.... Renntech, Barabus... .probably Kleeman too.

I think the QP would be a bit slow compared to either the AMG CLS or M5.....IMO

can't talk about CLS, but i debated between M5 and E63 both 2009 and brand new. i eventually took the e63 thining i have never had an AMG and how special it is in the MB. unfortunately the excitment of AMG left quickly and left behind a heavy car with a strong engine that didn't handle well. the electronic system was outdated and i can't get the bluetooth to link or work well every so often. i traded back the E63 after 10 months and had to write a check and thank the dealer for taking it. i will definitely try the M5 when i am ready for a sedan again.

I don't think you are a muscle car guy. To me AMG's are modern day muscle cars. Sound like you like the high rev. cars like the Porsche. I think it is only a matter of taste, which is coming out in this thread. No right or wrong answer.
