best performance bang for you buck would be a new Z06, which can be bought for as low as $63K and this comes with a 5yr/100K GM warranty. The reason i know so much about this is my father just got one of these last week.

My preferences lean me towards,
Sports car for the street: Ferrari 355
Car to track: Stripped, Caged, Brakes, Suspension, Fire system, etc.. Z06 or 996 GT3
Sedan Large: Arnage
Sedan Med: E63 or heavily modded G8 GXP
Sedan Small: C63
SUV: Hybrid Escalade with a lift and mud tires

C6 Z06, GTR, M5, C63, 6GT3 or 6GT2, 08 Viper. Lots available for 70K these days. If you can buy a clean CLK Black for 70K, that would be a great find right now.

For the street and no track i just bought a CL65, I always like the look and hard to argue 734Lb of Torque.
