Looks like the modern equivalent of a 66 Hemi Coronet with steelies and dog dish hub caps.

Hope that makes sense.

As others have mentioned... HRE carbon wheels only seem to look good in a black finish (matte or shiny, either works IMO). Look terrible in white, silver, or any light color b/c the carbon visually blends in with the sidewall and gives the appearance of a tiny wheel with a fat tire.

Redo 'em in black and I bet it'd look amazing.

Guys, really? Wheels (like most things aesthetic - watches, shoes, etc) are subjective.

Not really cool to tell someone that there car is "fugly" now is it?

Remember when your mom told you that if you did not have anything good to say, not to say anything at all?

Forums are great for sharing info and ideas and pictures, but what is the point to just post that you DON'T like something. Simon did not post these asking for opinions, he posted pics of another car that we finished for a local customer.

thanks
Brad

Brad. Just because a shop posts pic's of a project doesn't mean people are not going to rip on it, if it looks whack then people are going to attack, just part of playing online kid, no hard feelings...

P.S. this in an open fourm, enter or (post) at your own risk

I owned and still run forum bigger than this one, I know the way they work.

However, you would not go up to the owner of the car and say those things, would you? What about having some restraint, respect and maturity?

There is no RULE that says you have to say negative things, people CHOOSE to do that. That was your choice. The thread and forum were not made better by that choice, were they?

Of course your opinion is just as valid as anyone else's. However, the sharing of that opinion is what is in question. Some people were able to state their opinion in a respectful manner (ie: "not feeling it..") while some others were not able to do so (you included). So again, my question for you to THINK about (as I see no point in debating this online further) is to ask yourself what was benefited by your post.

thanks
Brad

Well for one, I think it was a unanimous decision overall that that car looks terrible with that hideous setup, but I guess we should all just be real careful that we don't hurt anyones feelings, yours included, when posting our opinions. Glad I'm not on your fourm walking on eggshells afraid to say what I wan't. Sorry bud looks like you just joined, your in a box of rattlesnakes on 6speed, enter at your own risk, people say what they want here for the most part and it's always the truth...lol...

I think Brad's point is that, most might agree, "fugly" doesn't really constitute constructive criticism.

I disagree with the sentiment, however, that once some bad reviews start rolling in (as mentioned earlier, almost unanimously negative feedback), "these weren't posted looking for opinions" - afterall, it is a forum. Making the effort to create a new thread, linking in pics, to show off some new wheels where anyone can post his/her own feedback, seems like an invitation for opinions.

Interestingly enough, the feedback on MBWorld has been roughly similar... few if any seem to like HRE Carbon wheels with a finish that's anything other than black. Didn't on the CGT that was posted awhile ago, still don't on the CLK63BS. As long as the owner's happy, that's all that matters - and who knows, in person it might look better... but it sure doesn't photograph well. JMHO.
