I drive my BS every day without difficulty and I wouldn't have it any other way. I think it makes a great daily driver. The auto transmission really helps when sitting in traffic, answering phone calls, etc. and the "manual" mode is a lot more fun than it sounds. The ass end will kick out when the car shifts into second and third with the traction control off. I do have to turn around and go out a separate parking lot exit about once a week due to clearance issues but I've been doing that for years so no big deal The car doesn't attract crazy attention so parking becomes reasonable. The gas tank is relatively small so plan on frequent trips to the gas station which can become annoying if you're always running late like I am. Overall great car and I have yet to see another on the road which I particularly like
Vivek

From all that I have read on the BS (which is a ton lately), they appear to be pretty good DD's.
Funny to see some of the same guys in on this thread that I share some recent cars with. Oddly enough, come mid summer 2010, I'll be looking for one of these. If they are in the $70-75K range by then, I'll be out of the 997S and into a BS.
Maybe one day I'll find the car that I'm looking for and one I will keep longer than 12 months. Thought I wanted a 4DR sport sedan -- got the M5 and hated the SMG and gas mileage. Now back in a Porsche and I bitch about the ride quality and the fact that I have to put golf clubs in back seat. I'm thinking the BS or an E92M3 w/ DCT might serve me best....preferably the BS if the $$$ is right.

The BS seems to be a cool car for people who like coupes...but want a LITTLE more space....but dont want a HOG....still classy...etc. I am in the exact same time frame as you (summer 2010) and if these are in the 75ish range i think ill double-click on one
That being said...a 997TT will be on the list as well.....Hmmmmmmmm

So very true Jon.....and you were in deed one of those I was referring to. I saw the rerun of the Supercar episode of Tony Kanaan's CLK63 BS and it was love at first sight....well, first sight AND sound
You hit the nail on the head. It is such a cool car...a coupe with gobs of performance and a bit more space over say a 911 but still gives off that classy look.
I actually promised my wife I'd keep the 997S for two years. June will be 1 year.....and there is no way on god's earth I could go another full year beyond that. Perhaps I could if I stayed off these forums
Too funny man.... my initial game plan was have the 997S for two years and then get a 997TT. I like your style buddy.

LOL....my 1 Year Anniv. with the Cayman has come and gone and i am SO PROUD of myself for keeping it this long. Its a great car...and with almost 28k miles under my belt i can say i like it more now then when i first got it - that being said, when the time is right, a 997TT OR a CLK BS will replace it no questions asked! hahahahaha
I guess well just have to keep an eye on the market and see how it shakes out after the New Year. Oh what 'problems' we have eh?!
