Removing Front Seats SL 55

I was wondering if anyone here knows how to remove the front seats for an 06 sl55. or sl500/550/600 <--i think they are all the same. Reason why im asking is because i dropped something very valuable under the seat on accident of course. And i tried everything. Tried moving my seat around. Vacuum and nothing. Im not sure if you guys here do any DIYs in this forum. And i hope this is the right section.

Thanks in Advance.

There are 4 main bolts, they are external torx bolts so get yourself a set of torx sockets or you may strip one with a normal socket set. Push your seat all the way forward as far as it can go and you will see two bolts in the rear seat rails, remove those then move the seat all the way backwards and it will reveal the two front bolts on the seat rail. At this time I dont suggest you totally remove the seat unless you have a 2nd person to help, it weights 95lbs, just get out of the car and push the seat towards the center console to gain access to whats underneath. FYI you have your lumbar and electronic controls under the seat that will need to be disconnected if you want to totally take the seat out. Let me know if this helps

DrivenAgain- Thanks, this should most definitely work. I just dont have a set of external torx. I guess its time for me, to get my self a set. I dont think ill be needing to take of the entire seat. I figure if i take off the rear bolts, ill be able to lift the seat a bit, and try to look for the item that i dropped. Thanks once again.

I always thought if we remove the electric plugs from the seat, it can trigger a SRS light? ( our seats have SRS system in them).
