considering purchase of 2005 2dr CLS55 AMG
Im considering a 2005 2dr CLS55 AMG. 50,000 miles
Basically I like the lines of the older cars...
any feed back from previous owners is appreciated.
reliability of a older amg car..?
what can i expect for the repairs..?
what are the mechanical weakness (for example my 2002 996tt water system due to glued in water fittings)
Is it about same up keep as 996tt?
i do most of my own repairs - will not get into engine or trans
thanks

They are great Autobahn/highway cruisers.
Loads of power and most importantly torque!!
But watch out for V12 maintenance! It will add up quickly. Things like spark plugs, etc.
Also, honestly (I've owned SEVERAL late model AMG cars but NOT any V12's) - I also drove them and put a fair amount of miles - I found that a lot of things went wrong/broke. All the cars I owned needed quite a bit of money poured into them after 100k miles. They started to nickel & dime me (thousands) so I sold them.
That said, the experience from 50k to 100k miles on three cars was GREAT!!
I exclusively drove the three AMGs for about seven years! Have fun!!
