My folks have a mini S that needs new tires. When I last drove their car the road noise coming from the front end was so apparent I had them have the CV joints checked. The car checked out at the dealer service in perfect condition. The problem was likely the tires. They currently have run flats, which are noted for their higher level of road noise. I've also read reviews of other tires for the Mini that were less than favorable.
I haven't paid attention to this forum, but I'm sure you have had a tire debate or two. What is the forum consensus on Mini tires? Even though their car is the S designation, the primary focus for my parents would be ride comfort and quiet ride.
Thanks!

I just ordered a set of Continental ContiPro Contact SSR run-flats for our '06 Cooper S. It's amazing that the OEM Dunlops are nearly shot after only 28,000 miles of average driving and NO track time. They also cupped like mad. Noisy as hell.
A friend with an S just bought some Continentals through the dealer at a huge price, but he really likes the tires. He said it's a different car now.
I plan to get the wheels aligned after the new treads are on, but I don't know if I trust the dealer. I hope there is a shop in town that does Mini's.
