Took it back to the dyno this weekend for a fueling issue and a second fan. It made 349Hp on 14-14.5lb boost and i can run it up to 18lb on 93 octane. Ive been leaving it at 14lb so far....18lb will make 380HP maybe little more. Its been running up to 200mph on 14lb about as fast as a normal busa will go to 140mph
Have you ever had any trouble with the "Bluelight Boys"????
Not really, you just have to be careful where you open it up. Since the bike is slammed and stretched it handles speed very well and is very deceptive. You can leave it on spring pressure which is 14lb and gently roll it on and be at 130-140mph VERY easily. So "knock on wood" cops have not been a large issue. I did get clocked at 165mph on the interstate over a year ago. I was on my stock busa and was running it WOT in sections of the road where they had put up these metal cables up so no cars could cross the median. It was about 2AM in the morning and it was about 50 degrees so it was running like a bat out of hell. I never even saw the guy he said he was sitting on the side of the road and i just blew by him. About 5 mile down the road i was cruising around 80 and he came up from behind me and hit his lights. It was this older state tropper probably 55 years old and he at first was screaming at me but after he kept asking me why i was going so fast...I couldn't think of anything to say except this thing is just too fast and fun and im sorry The guy told me he used to be young and stupid and he wasn't going to ruin my driving record. We ended up talking about drag cars for a minute and then he let me go with a warning because I stopped and it was 2AM with no cars out. COOLEST COP EVER EVER EVER. I felt like my luck was so good that night i should have played the damn lottery. TRUE STORY MY FRIEND
Maybe a dumb Q, but are the tires rated for 200+? That is the baddest bike I have ever seen, I can only imagine what it must be like....wow!
thank you, yes they are "Z" rated for high speed. I'm not sure how high but i know of a guy that LSR with the same tires and just went 257MPH last weekend with the same tire setup
Not at this time. I would like to get a camera to mount on my bike though. This would eliminate having to find someone to take a camera out with them. I've only been riding 1-2 per month and usually by myself when I go. Lately I just haven't thought about it
Probably, one of the coolest, and cleanest turbo builds i have seen. Great work man!
Thank you. I had purchased all the parts and the bike by January 09. I took my first non problem ride about 3 weeks ago. People wouldn't imagine all the custom work, labor, and intensive tuning that goes into these bikes. I did everything except build the internals of the motor and operate the dyno. It took me a few days of 24Hr around the clock work to put it back together from frame up after the powder coating and then wire everything correctly. So much little stuff seemed to come up along the way. I guess you are taking a 150HP stock bike and cranking out 600+Hp out of it so you better have it right. The amount of power you can get out of these little motors is incredible. I would eventually like to put some cams in it and have Cooper Performance port the head. I would stick some air on the wastegate and let it have all it wanted. Im willing to bet it would break 700HP on C16 or awfully close...with alcohol for sure
