996 C4S from the Netherlands
Hello members on 6SpeedOnline.com,
Introducing myself as a newbie on this forum.
My name is Ivo and I am living with my family in the Netherlands.
I am a real petrolhead.
At the moment I am very happy with my first watercooled Porsche 996 C4S 2003 (manual) in Midnight Blue.
Before this car I owned a 911 3.2 '85, 964 C4, and a 964 C2.
First of all I will read several topics and get informed about this community.
Please find some pics of my 996 4S (I try)

Thank you.
Yes there has been some modifications. To get a better sound there are two by-pass pipes welded. One on each side. Sounds perfect
But most important modificatie is the cooling system. A lot of 996 / 997 MKI engines collapes/explodes.
Modification is another waterpump with large capacity, new thermostate placed on the other side. And a (taxi) sensor in the front.
Result: superb balances cooling on all cylinders. Lower oil temp (better for IMS). Earlier start coolfan. I'm happy.
Problem with all the 996 engines is cooling cylinder row 4-5-6. Cylinder 6 is getting to hot in relation to row 1-2-3.
It is an invention of a dutch Porsche Specialist and getting a hype in the Netherlands. Lots of engines has been modified already.
