Pretty much confirms what we saw in the telemetry they released last year.
1st "290 kph moment" coincides with a jump in the crest near Schwedenkreuz. Actual vehicle speed is more like 268-269 kph (ZR1: 274). People with a figure of 693bhp on their minds were reading that chart all wrong.
290 kph on the straight? No way. Fastest speed (highest revs in 6th) reached is after the kink. It comes at the plunge into Tiergarten. Same as with the ZR1 and GT2.
Man, that is a really good driver. I think that all manufacturers should come out with their best drivers on the best tires like Nissan does so we can actually see how they compare. I personally don't believe that a stock 3800lb dry car can do that. Cars that weigh 600lbs less have a hard time. It had to have racing tires. Driver is obviously a pro which is fair.

He was what 200 rpm higher after the kink? 200 RPM in 6th gear is only a couple MPH. Not 11 like the production car. All these videos and still no speed on them.
__________________ The GT-R is harder to drift than a 997 TT or 997 GT3, therefore if you are trying to drift, the GT-R will consequently get a faster lap. Normal apexing and driving not included.

Watch the video again. There is a spike or bobble in the revs right before he goes under the bridge. Where are you getting the 11 mph difference from?

1.4g's ?? you sure about that. Heck, that is a track tire. Most quality street tires can't pull more than 1-1.1g's. R6's can pull 1.4g's. So if the GTR pulled 1.4g's then it had to have some very soft racing rubber, and considering the weight of the car this would be more apparent, as the g-forces are wanting to pull the car off it's line. Still, fast car, as there are lots of cars that run race tires that cannot match that time.
I have looked at several videos of cars running near that and none looked that slow
Yeah, but he barley lost speed through alot of those corners. I dont believe the GTR is a track weapon, but as the video shows, for ONE LAP it can go with any car if you're not scared to crash it.
I dont buy into ANY manufactures track times. The all say "stock tires, pump fuel, stock ECU".
If I was in charge of a multi-billion dollar company, I would do whatever it took to get the best times possible and show them to the public to promote the hell out of my product.
Slicks, 105 oct fuel, up the boost, tweaked suspension. Im sure they all do it and calim to be a stock setup. Dont fool yourself, all they want is your money.
Since everybody in the Auto world and online forums talk about these times, the cars are getting promoted. No such thing as bad press when it comes to this stuff.

The 599 GTB pulled 1.3g's in a few corners. So did the Z06 on its Goodyear runflats (peak of 1.35g). Even the relatively tame BMW 335ci on Bridgestone RE050 runflats managed 1.15g in three different corners. BMW M5 did 1.2g in 4 corners; that's 1840kg and Continental SportContact2's. Clearly these are not race tires. VLN race cars for sure on racing slicks pull 2g's on this track.
I hope you are not confusing skidpad performance with peak g's obtained while cornering.

I'm genuinely startled by your ability to extract scientific detail from youtube videos filmed at strange angles.
Needless to say the difference between the production car at Dottinger Hohe and the Nissan car at Tiergarten is precisely 14km/h, which equates to 312 rpm difference in 6th gear.
Let's just hope that your not wrong by... oh .. say.... 112rpm.
The fact is that anyone (nudge, nudge) who suggested that the top speed was achieved before Hohe was proved factually incorrect by this video.

Street tires can pull as high as 2.0g, they just can't do it on a flat surface like a skid pan. Nor can they do it regularly without risk of delamination. A car's ability to pull lateral g is a function of both the inherent tire grip and the normal force (i..e the downward pressure on the tire).
On a flat skid pan the normal force is really only determined the weight of the car and that weight happens to be the same weight that is responsible for creating the lateral (centripetal) force, so g levels are kept quite low.
On the other hand if you induce a higher normal force ( like you would when the car bottoms out in a dip, or with any positive vertical acceleration of the chassis) then the g level increases. This is because the centripetal force is not a function of the vertical load and it stays the same while the normal force is a function of the chassis' vertical acceleration. For a street tire g levels higher than 1 only occur when a higher normal force is induced by this type of vertical chassis acceleration and typically only lasts for less than a second, usually more like milliseconds.
The GT-R actually hits a 1.6g spike at the bottom of the Fuchsrhore every time it runs the Nord but the equipment only measures out to about 1.5. In fact you may remember seeing pictures of the prototype GT-R wearing flash twin spoke alloys back in 2007. That design had to be scrapped when the FR wheel buckled (flowered inwards) at this point on the track.
