Motor Trend picks GT-R as the "Best Supercar" under $100k.
They pit it against a $55k 2011 Shelby GT500 with "SVT Performance Package" and a $98k 2011 Z06 with "Ultimate Performance Package" and "Carbon Fiber Package".
Randy Pobst drove all 3 cars. The GT-R was fastest around the Streets of Willow, had the shortest braking distance and quickest 1/4 mile time.
The GT-R came in first overall, Z06 came in second and GT 500 in 3rd.

you will probably get quite a bit of debate on what is considered a "supercar" under 100K. but it is hard to argue that you can buy an all around better car than the GTR for under 100K.

View it for yourself below.
The Mustang actually did quite well considering its again one-half the price and maintenance is a lot less. How does the new 2012 GT-R compare without the launch control engaged in the 0-60 and quarter mile?

What other cars out there for under $100k (new) can compete at this stage? In my opinion, there is only two - the Z06 and the GT-R. I think it was funny that the Z06 released it's bad a$$ lightweight track monster, and the base (premium) model GT-R, fully loaded, still ran a faster time.
