I agree... if we were having this conversation over a beer it would sound completely different. I think I came up with the answer to what he was looking for though. That all that matters.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Being the freak I am now I'm researching how dyno's work and why things happen. How correction is calculated and how different dyno's have different margins of error and why. Also proper application for different types of dyno's.

LOL I'm going to be upall night!

You hit the nail on the head... I would like to know (as a potential customer) what the SAE rwhp would be if I were to buy this exhaust (atleast a good estimate given I would dyno on a different machine). It's always best to start with SAE smoothing 5 baseline and then add parts and compare using the same metric. Just cleaner that way...

In any case, ISS, all you need to do is call the dyno shop and ask them to reprint your runs using SAE smoothing 5, should be that easy.

I don't think that's necessary. All the dyno is doing is mathematically adjusting numbers to compensate for ideal conditions. The difference is right under 3%. Remember SAE is also a correction factor.

Well, you can definately take that stance but it won't help your cause. Posting STD numbers is misleading b/c the STD correction factor is an artificially cf. Given the pickup with bolt ons is only in the 20-30 range, 3% does matter when posting peak numbers.

It's your thread, your product, i'm just trying to help you if you want to sell it. You will likely not run into many F owner's here on 6speed but if you end up marketing on CL they will want SAE (smoothing 5) numbers.

Good luck to you and your company!
Peter

We feel comfortable with the STD numbers. Regardless our baseline number was 332 so the increase is what it is. The 332 was done on the same dyno with the same correction factor. After looking at the numbers we are comfortable saying it has a 25 to 30 RWHP increase.

Thanks Peter

price? I noticed you guys dont bother with resonators after the X-Pipe like Borla, PTS, and SRT use. That could attribute to higher horsepower, reduced weight. Logically it should be louder though (which i'd prefer anyway!) Not really filling the tips though.. not that the quad stacked exhaust was my thing, but at least it lined up with the bumper cover. I'd like to see single tips on either side that are shaped exactly to that opening. Kinda like the single tip on the lambo murci lp640, but one on each side.

$1500 for the first 5 systems. We have 2 left at that price.

A molded single tip would look sick! I will look into it after we finalize this product.

i'm trying to sell my is300 to get into an IS-F. Already getting the mod bug. the only thing that would entice me into getting this exhaust over the borla would be a nice massive single molded tip on either side.

So we did the dyno run on SAE Smoothing 5 as requested by houstont and several other people and we stick to our 25 to 30 HP increase... We will post the Dyno sheets soon. The number was more like 27 to 33 but we are going to stick to the 25 to 30.
