This is awesome. Great respect for your effort and attention to detail with this project mate.

I drive past a white 240 and a red 260 every day. Both of them have been parked on someone's drive for years now and look a right state, such a shame. Its good to see one being restored very nicely, love the wheels too!

Thanks much. You have one gorgeous car there. I love it. If TVR made an RX-7, that's what it would be. Gorgeous.

Cheers mate, it gives me a smile every time I drive it. Its design was in fact inspired by the Tuscan and the 993 so good call! Fancy a trade for your 911?

Back on topic lol, good thinking on using the SR20. With 400hp that thing will have more power to weight than a lot of supercars.

I think I have the 911 sold, but I'd be interested otherwise!

Ah not to worry hehe. It was quite an extraordinary 911 and at roughly £40k a lot of car for the money here in the uk.

I'll keep an eye out for developments in this thread.

I know. I'm losing my ass on the 911. BUT, selling it makes keeping the 240Z a secure reality. I've had a few rough years, to say the least.

Keep up the good work, not many people pay attention to little details. This is going to be a beast.

Thanks guys. Turbobelair - I would LOVE to see more on your car. Can you send me a link or something?

As for an update:

The exhaust for this car, if I might say so myself, is pretty wonderful. I told them that I wanted it tucked up under the car as much as possible so that it wouldn't be prone to scraping, and that I wanted to use stock hanger locations - not drilling into the bottom of the car at all. Here's what they've come up with so far. The welds aren't finalized in these pics. They have a tip on here that bends down. I killed that. Don't like it at all. We're doing with a straight pipe with a diagonal cut on it instead. Also, note the hanger system they made.

Oh, and check out my clearance, yo.

Amazing!! I love the old school Datsun 240Z and 510.

Only issue I see you may have... Top Mount Turbo will over heat and melt the BMC. Mainly the plastic container.

Drew - Sorry, BMC?

Oh, brake master cylinder, got it. Are you saying this as a generality, or something you've seen in the 240Z application? This is something that more than a handful of guys have done and none have mentioned it. Also, everything is being thermal coated. But still, I appreciate it and I'll ask around a bit more.

Great project and awesome build. Is that a single GT28 non-ball bearing turbo? I don't think I saw it under description. 400rwhp and low weight car, now that will be fast. Congrats!!

Great work on this, nice to see another old school Datsun guy on here. I've seen this on Hybridz as well.
