Where in S.A. are the pictures taken?
I'll be there over the Christmas break.

squid is an unknown quantity at this point
Thanks for the shots!

I still say the hatchback on a sedan is a mistake. It looks like a Cayman spooning a 5-series.

Thanks Mike!

I'll be in Mpumalanga, so I expect I'll see more elephant than Panameras.

This car is really growing on me. (no pun intended)

Not feeling it - yet, but I have to agree with Mike S. Went the same route with a Cayenne S and the rest is history.

Keep in mind that sedan style vehicles have been on a steady decline in Western Europe. Only Mercedes, Audi and BMW are successfull in selling those, and most of those sold are company, or fleet cars (in Germany, these three sell only about 30% of cars to private parties).

Western Europeans like wagons, hatchbacks and increasingly SUVs. I think the elite in Russia is also at least somewhat open to different concepts of vehicles.

So it is understandable that Porsche doesn't just copy the same thing that the other big three German luxury makers already offer. They want to do something different, something that's both fast and practical.

Thanks for sharing Mike, more importantly.... good to see you are driving the 997S cab despite having that killer collection of cars!

Great sighting!

My Porsche dealer also informed me that the new 928 coming out will be somewhat based from the Panamera. Pretty much a 2 door version.

Really? How did he inform you about this?

This is interesting because my sources say the Porsche factory has not even made a definitive decision on building a 2-door derivative of the Panamera. Sure, we should expect it sooner or later, but at this time any information you see/read is no more than speculation.

I guess it's good for selling car magazines or attracting web views...

Yes, I would rather that they concentrate on a Carrera GT substitute.
Not as profitable as a 928 substitute, but more important to the brand.

I still think its ugly. Look how tall and bulky it is compared to other cars. looks like a bloated wagon.
