Things have obviously change with the Mustang. Corvette has always been a bad image. Much like a fat american tourist image. Still both look better outside the US. I had a Shelby GT350 there. Sadly I left it.

that is not a review by JC- it is a completley personal comment on looks and adds no value what so ever to anything about the Panamera or Porsche.

it is a waste of space

Aren't all reviews personal opinions? Whats your point? Anything else is only a road test and/or specifications. Anything one says about the car outside of the specs and numbers is personal. And not a waist of space. Common, If he loved the car you'd be totally with him simply because he agrees. Actually you should take a look at this. Search Panamera on Flicker to see what real People are saying about the Panam.

Here are some other comments from people to Porsches adds for the Panam. There are pages and pages of these. Funny.

The unmistakable, sleek GT silhouette...." No, it was a big mistake and it isn't GTesque. Take a look at the Aston Martin Rapide for a GT silhouette.

"Through its design language alone, the Panamera will establish a new segment versus the competition." Actually, this is true. The new segment will be for ugly competitors in the four-door coupe arena.

"... the unique interpretation of the classical saloon body..." GoodCarBadCar.net's verdict on this is misleading. The Panamera is a unique interpretation, but we're not sure what the Porsche is interpreting. It's certainly not a 'classical saloon body'.

"The striking, muscular shoulders over the rear wheels, the dynamic sweep of the coupé-like roof-line, and the visible tailpipes again signpost the DNA so typical of a thoroughbred Porsche." This is an outright lie. A typical thoroughbred Porsche looks good. Typical as in Cayman, Boxster, and 911 GT3. Oh, unless Porsche thinks that their typical thoroughbred is the Cayenne. Ewww.

"The elegant roof arch extends stylishly over the generous interior, begging the beholder to get inside." This isn't a lie, it's simply an error. Porsche has been misled by the focus groups. The only thing begging this beholder to get inside is that I know it is a Porsche and will drive amazingly well. Elegant roof? Funny joke, Porsche. Extending stylishly? Okay, that's not even funny.

The Good Car Guy is showing Porsche's two best Panamera angles and the two worst. Decide for yourself which photos belong in which category. It must be pointed out that "two best" really means "two not-as-wickedly-ugly-as-the-others".

All true I'm afraid.

I understand, of course, why Porsche chose to build a four-door saloon. It’s the same reason Lamborghini started work on such a thing, and Aston Martin too. These are small companies and it makes economic sense to squeeze as many models as possible from every component. You have the engine. You have the chassis. And you have a lot of people who won’t buy anything you make because they want four doors.
The trouble is, while Lamborghini and Aston Martin clearly employ talented stylists to ensure an elongated, widened four-seat variation on a two-seater theme does not end up looking like a supermodel who’s gone to fat, Porsche plainly gave the job to a janitor.
I actually wonder sometimes whether Porsche employs a stylist at all. Plainly, it had some bloke back in the Thirties, when Hitler created the ancestor of the 911, and it had someone else in the Seventies and Eighties, when it was making the wondrous 928 (the 944 wasn’t bad either), but today, God knows who’s in charge. Someone who, I suspect, has never been to art school.
The original design for the Boxster was exquisite but then someone obviously said: “Instead of making this, why don’t we make the actual car we sell look like that pushmi-pullyu thing from Doctor Dolittle?”
Then there’s the Gayman, which is simply hideous, and don’t even get me started on the Cayenne. No, do get me started. What were they thinking of? I understand the reasoning behind that 911-style nose, but did no one stop and think: “Hang on. Putting a 911’s face on the front of a truck is the same as putting Keira Knightley’s phizog on the front of Brian Blessed. The end result is going to look absurd”? And it does.
The Cayenne is one of the few cars that look better when a footballer has added 39in wheels, spoilers and wings. Because the bling detracts from the hopeless starting point.
The Panamera, though, is worse. People have tried to be kind, saying that it’s challenging and that it’s unusual. But the simple fact of the matter is this: it’s as ugly as an inside-out monkey. It’s dreadful. Part Austin Maxi, it looks like someone with no talent at all was trying to describe what they wanted to a blind person, over the phone."

I Eespecially LIke the last part..."...it looks like someone with no talent at all was trying to describe what they wanted to a blind person, over the phone." HA HA HA HA!

These are still coming out. All the fans are saying it looks better in person. Thats easy as it can't look much worse. Then I hear over and over as to how great the performance is. Ya like thats big on the 405 or in stop and go on Santa Monica Blvd. Tell me where are the Panam guys going to use this performance. Track days? Right. Sure its fast and ugly. Most of the time it will be driven slowly...then its just ugly. Or drive it so fast that its a blurr. Thats when it looks best.

That's my point. Who wants a "sports car for four". I'd rather have a sports car for two minus 1,000 pounds. The car can't even carry four sets of luggage without folding down the rear seats, thus negating the extra two seats.

I can't see the BMW 7 series or S class folks being tempted to change. When I want to take the family on vacation I want to arrive fresh and comfortable with all the stuff. I'd take the new AWD 7 series in a heartbeat. It looks great standing still. I see no reason why I should be forced to accomadate the Panamera's looks just to have four seats in a car that will be used exclusively on city streets and freeways. There are other alternatives that are just as good on the freeway that look and drive great. And, for less money.
