I currently have a 2012 Panamera. It has 22in rims right now, and I am looking for a new tire package. I keep getting bent rims on the 22s, but I have been told its because I dont have the correct tire & wheel package. I am torn between getting the stock 20in Sport Wheels or 22in Savini BM3 Wheels. I like the way 22s look on the car, but I don't want to keep bending rims and a shaking steering wheel. Would it be better if I just used the 20inch stock wheel or could i still get a good ride with good 22s? New to Porsche.

20 inch is the perfect wheel size for the panamera . Thats the bigest wheel adviced by the factory ! Biger wheel means great unsprugweight , which decrease mpg , performance and can even brake something . There are a lot of lightweight 20 inch wheels for sale here at 6speedmarket , try to buy a hre , adv or forged . You will thank me later
The Panamera is almost as big as a Cayenne and might even be the same size...20s look like 18s on that car and with any car the stance and the wheels can be the difference between homely and handsome...
A stock Panamera looks like it is on stilts even with the 20s...it's not a bad look but if I did that car with 20s I'd have to lower it...21s give you a bit more tire...as porschecayenne92 states the larger wheels do impact performance but the reality is on the streets even with 22s that car out runs most...the biggest thing I'd be concerned about with the 22s is how fast the brakes wear and is stopping distance increased...you can shop for the lightest 22 or 21 and compare to the weight of the stock 20s...
You are in the northeast and the reality is bent rims at any size is just a reality...my daily driver is an old BMW 3 Series with a sport package and 17s and no matter how hard I try I get bent rims...get the 20s and lower it or 21s...I LOVE the look of the 22s but...
I've been lurking in the Panamera section because I am considering one and the only way I am doing one is either 20s and lowering or 21s or possibly 22s...my question for you is aside from the bent rim issue...how is the ride? Is it noticably different from the stock 20s? I ask because while I love the look if it is going to ride like a truck then it's sort of silly to do it...it's like the chick who wears 5 inch heels out...looks sexy as hell but when she takes her shoes off her feet look like she's been stopping her car with her feet Flintstone style...let us know what you do and post pics! I was concerned about the weight issue as well moving from the OEM 20s to 21 or 22 (22 was ideal b/c of the aesthetic quality)... Then I weighed the OEM 20s and found out I could get a 22" adv1 that were forged/stronger wheel and were 6 lbs lighter per wheel... Was sold after that...

I've been there and done both sizes. It's all about how you stance your car. The reason I went back to 20s was for ride comfort and performance. The limited tire selection for the 21s and 22s was the deciding factor as well. The Pzero Neros are noisy and have subpar grip. On 22s, the car felt very bumpy at freeway cruising speed and there's no way to adjust the suspension as it is a closed air suspension system.
