Radar detectors...

Looking to buy a radar detector and connect the power into the rear view mirror.

Anyone here done this? What cables do I need?

Thanks

Blend mount/Wiretap makes a great mounting and power source solution. I use both products with my V1 and LOVE it.

Maybe OT and having used a V1 for 20+ years, I have a new Stinger VIP. It's an installed piece so not plug and play.

Is there a reason you want to spend money on a radar detector? They will not prevent a ticket. All it is telling you is that you just got shot with the gun. Ur speed is on the gun the moment your detector alerted. U need laser jammers. Only 1 or 2 on the market actually work. And need to be installed perfectly also.

Not true! The detector detects others so you get an advance warning. You will hear whats in the vicinity and of course you have to keep your eyes open! I haven't gotten a ticket in over 13-years! Get a radar detector.

Not true? So you actually think the radar gun stays on? Or the officer radars every car? One car is zapped. Then they get pulled over. 15 minutes later YOU get zapped. And YOU get pulled over. You dont get a warning from 15 minutes earlier. I DONT have a radar detector and have not got a ticket in over 20 years. You have just been lucky. Radar detectors do NOT work anymore. There is zero warning. My wife has been a cop for 15 years. People with detectors get pulled over on a daily basis. Trust me, they dont work. Do some research to learn more.

A badge? Please elaborate how one goes about using a badge in the place of a radar detector.

YOU cant but I can. Like I said in my earlier post, my wife is on the job so I get a mini shield. Its the ONLY thing that works. I can count 9 times I got pulled over this year alone. Actually got pulled over yesterday afternoon. No tickets for me.

I never heard of a mini badge... looks like it's a NY thing and anyone can get one lol

I still like having a radar detector, it's nice to know you're being clocked. If I'm cruising the speed limit and want to punch it, it's nice to know if a cop is behind me somewhere
