I understand why many of you want to use watermarks to best 'protect' your work.
While I cannot guarantee this ruling will ultimately 'stick' in the meantime, be my guest and you can include watermarks. Do NOT post watermarked images outside of this area. Do not place website info on photos or website links in the post or they will be deleted.

Outside this area? I was planning to update my pictures to include watermarks. I've had too many folks "steal" my images. What would you suggest I do? I'm hardly doing that to "advertise" my business but rather to "protect" my images. I plan to use my name as a watermark as opposed to my business name. Would that also be suitable as well?

Web links to sites offering services in profiles and signatures is still not allowed and it is being strictly enforced.

Noted, keep us all posted. I'm seeing an increasing number of my pictures/images being posted elsewhere without my permission and I've got to start watermarking my images even the ones for non-commercial purposes.

I feel you. I would rather not post any images at all than post images up so someone else can steal them.
I'm on both sides of the fence on this one. If you are not going to make any money with a particular image, who cares if there is a small file floating around the net? Is it really worth your headache? Professional work, I understand, you want to keep it protected. If I snap a photo of my s2000, I could care less if people right click, save as, print em, and show their friends. It's when I lose money when it matters.

Even a 72dpi, 640x480 image is enough for someone to use to start selling a product. It's been done to me before, several times.
Listen, if someone really wants it, they will take it. I can photoshop out any watermark used on this site. To me, for the most part, it's just like car alarms.
