I am looking to buy a Nikon D90 and wanted to get some advice on a few options that are on Ebay. Any other good sources to buy them? Thanks in advance.
I recently purchase a D-90. I paid 1 grand. they come with kit lenses if you want. I did not want the kit lense.
For camera bodies, I prefer to purchase from a real dealer. I don't trust all the ebay stuff for that but that's mho.
I used Beach Camera out of New York. They've always treated me rather fairly. Plus the 3 year additional warranty was very reasonable. I love the D-90. The only shortcoming so far, which I didn't realize upon purchase, was the lack of a strobe synch plug in.
I haven't even tried the movie portion. I've been focused on the ISO stuff. I was originally going to get a D-300 but decided to go with the d90 after reading the Thom reviews.
I think they may have come down in price since I purchased in December.
Best of luck and enjoy

Love my D90 as well. Buy it. I had a D200 and then a 300. The 3 was great but the very first thing a D200 or 3 guy realizes (which i did not know) is that the D90 is just as robust and then some on the features but it happens to be about 20% smaller which is really quite nice when you are used to carrying around a brick. You will be happy with. Trust me.

Thanks for the replies and contact info guys! I am looking forward to playing around with the D90.
What is your budget? I think you should get a different lens. Well actually I can't say that yet, because I don't know how skilled you are. No point in getting expensive equipment if you don't know how to use it to its full potential.
My friend always tells me, you can have the most expensive equipment, but someone who has a point a click or a camera on auto focus will out shot you if you don't know what your doing.
The d90 is nice though, I have been thinking about pulling the trigger on one.
i think that's a good starter lens for the d90...that or the 18-200vr (which is more money). assuming this is your first dslr, the d90 kit will be a good way to get you started. after you learn about the camera and what types of shooting you do, come back here and we will certainly help you spend some serious money on glass!

I want to keep the costs <$1500. What lens would you recommend? I am an amateur right now, nothing serious. Here are a few sample photos of mine. All of these except for the Supperleggera one were taken with a friend's Nikon D80. (The Superleggera one was taken with my point and shoot Casio).

Thanks for the advice guys! This will be my first DSLR, and I definitely need to learn more about their capabilities. I know you guys can help me spend some cash too!
hey op, did you see that someone in this site's for sale section has a new in box d90 18-105vr kit for sale...i think he's asking $950 shipped for it. you should check it out--we can help you spend money, but maybe we can also help you minimize what you spend!
