Hey, I think I have a bad head gasket on a 1999 996. Have any of you guys had this replaced? What I am looking at for labor as I am sure the gasket is not more than $75. Thanks for your help.

 

what are the symptoms? 99's are know for intermix problems in the engine....Its not a head gasket, its the channels inside the block wearing down and the coolant channel and the oil channel mix together....make sure you diagnose it properly first...I'd hate for you to go through the trouble of changing the head gasket only to find out its your block.

 

The reason I took it in to have them look at it in the first place was coolant kept leaking out. I checked all the hoses first, and could not find a leak. They told me they checked the hoses too and did not find any leak. They then went further and said it was coming from the head gasket. I am not the most mechanical person, so that is why I am looking for advice. Thank you for your response and help.

 

No prob, I just had an engine replaced last year becuase of intermix....

$0....CPO warranty covered it 100%.....
