I like the overall look of it... I just think that the tail lights are too 'blacked' out.. Question for you... would it make more sense to buy a boxster and mod it... or add a little and buy a carrera?

Nice! Looks like alot of people are doing the GT3 grill mod now. I was laughed at for doing it and was hated for cutting up my Cayman. I love it. My car was at the 2008 International AutoShow, this was the display in front of the car. I recieved nothing but love. The HP is actually greater now due to the Mantis Pulley kit (7-12HP / 5-8FTLBS more, now 371HP 321FTLBS) last dyno-

The wheels are BBS LMR 19x8.5 / 255 35ZR19, 19x11 / 295 30ZR19 Michelin PS2s they are a prototype set BBS sent me for the show, they have not been officially released yet- you can only get 19x9.5 LMRs for the Cayman S.

Kamil, depends on what you prefer. Do you like modding? or do you prefer having a "better?" car. Some poeple feel more confortable owning a carrera... I feel great owning a modded Boxster. You have 2 options: Buying a Boxster and modify it, or buy the carrera and later when you save enough money, modify it!

Either way you'll have a Porsche, and that is all that matters, they are all great cars!

Porsched4ed, your first pic is awesome, love how the car looks. I personally love how it looks with the GT3 grill, and I wouldn't even think of going back.

I also kinda feel proud for being able to cut my bumper and install the grill.

Djomlas, which vent are you refering to? If its the gt3 grill, I got it at my local porsche dealership. If you mean both air intakes to each side of the front bumper, they are the stock, I was just playing around with duct tape before I went ahead and modify it somehow.

Thanks! the grill mod is also a performance mod. It was tested and the air that gets into the bumper flows out from there giving you greater downforce up front.

Are you serious?!?! You saying that with only bolt-ons you got 76 more HP? I just can't see this... Im sorry. I have to see a dyno... thats nearly 110 HP/Lit... thats GT3 Cup car level with a I assuming slightly raised redline of 7500... which is no where near the GT3's... not to mention that you haven't touched the cams... I know the plenums do wonders... and there is a little to gain with good headers/2ndary pipes... and a little more with smaller pulley's.... BUT 76 more? This is a Normally aspirated 3.4 liter flat-6... that only redlines at 7200 maybe 7500.

Please don't take this wrong, but Im just amazed that can be possible... love the cayman though.. beautiful.

Slavik, the taillights are actually duct-taped LOL, as I mentioned above, I was playing around with the electricist's tape and decided to cover the fogs just to get an idea on how it looked, then I thought about doing the tails, finally I ended up doing the center hole on the front bumper and the mirrors too.
