New custom 3" Exhaust Build by T3. Dynos Added. 60+ whp

Dropped my car off off at T3 Industries for custom exhaust. Shop is new but the owner does high quality fabrication work. He was part of the crew working on the ASP/DC Kalis Camaro that belongs to his brother and member here phillym5.

He wanted to build a performance system for the 996tt saying there were gains from going 3.25" -> 3" with straight through mufflers rather then the 2.75 that I had before. The outlet on A30s is larger then 3" and thats how big the beginning of the exhaust is to perfectly match the outlet of the Alphas. There will be more pics of the finished product as well as sound clips soon....

I can hear it already... It looks like markski's setup. Looks good, dynomax cans? In my minds eye I can not see the X used in that form (cross flow) making more power then not using it, I know the sound is worth it though.

On the high HP cars we never went back and forth to test... it did make 1100whp on Robmds... then on our 997 TT it made 870whp... etc...
Ironically KPG went from straight pipes to the X( evoms made it) and he made considerably more TQ and HP... common sense would tell you otherwise...
I actually have no answer for it... It does sound a lot better though unlike the common tracker type of sound you get from conventional after market systems...

Just FWIW, KPG's custom EVOMS exhaust isn't really an X-design, IMHO. Each side is pretty isolated except for a small "balancing" pipe:

That dyno results was in 2007 or 2008 at Todd K, which was only 27 pounds of boost if I recall correctly? I have been above 35 pounds since then and I still have Marski exhaust on it. I do not know if I could make more power on straight pipes; however, to me it is not worth it. I love the sound that his cross flow makes and I will stick to it until it falls apart.

the mufflers are modified Vibrant mufflers. they are priced well and don't use glasspacking. X was for sound the 3.25-3" design for performance. got a few more pics of the 90% finished product. still need to tap it for my wideband sensor, finish tips (maybe powdercoat them) and make a hanger so that its easy to remove. also going to use steel studs instead of iron.

Nice. I like Vibrant's stuff.. I also like the fact that you went your own way with your build.

yeah they were nice, plus Mike@T3 welded all the seems since they are just rolled and welded in some places. i believe they are larger then what Markski uses since they are oval canisters and not can resonators. there are a handful good fabricators out here that i am on good terms with, Mike got skils and so far everything looks good.

Here are few cell phone pics of the wider opening reducing to 3" as well as flanges etc...
