I just did the brake flush and tire rotation today and noticed that on the front tires, both the outside are wearing out faster than the inside edge. I checked with my Longacre camber gauge and it read +.25 camber on both fronts. The rear are wearing evenly at -1 camber.

I was browsing for how to change the front camber and came across this website:

Anyone have experience adjusting the front camber on a 958 V6?

 

That site is a blatant rip-off of information from the AllData (pay) website. The rip-off is also very incomplete - the entire info for a Cayenne/Engine is the oil capacity of the V8 engine - which isn't even ID'd as a V8 (putting 9.51 quarts in a V6 could kill the engine.)

AllData offers an enthusiast rate of around $12/year to access to a quite complete service manual for the Cayenne. They based theirs on the factory manual, I'd assume with Porsche permission since they are a commercial operation. I own the factory manual - but find it worth subscribing to the AllData access since it's often much easier to look something up on their website interface than it is to search the 11,000 pages of the factory 958 manual.

YMMV - but I don't find any value to the site listed above. DISCLAIMER - I have no interest in AllData except being a satisfied customer.

 

Is THIS the Alldata service that is good (alldatadiy)? $26/year $45/5 years.

 

That's the correct site - but it's worth Googling "AllData discount" before buying the subscription. You can typically find it for about $10 less - sometimes with a coupon code - sometimes right on the website.

Thanks for the heads up. I was at work yesterday and was reading up on camber adjustments during lunch break. I'm gonna edit the 1st post.

Here are the official camber specs for the 958 V6 with and without PASM:

Left and Right Front Camber: Min: -0.58 / Preferred: -0.25 / Max: 0.08

Left and Right Rear Camber: Min: -1.67 / Prefereed: -1.33 / Maxi: -1

I'm gonna do the camber and toe adjustment this weekend. I'll try to snap some pics along the way.

 

Here is the front wheel rotated to the rear:

This is the camber adjustment bolt. It is towards the front of the Lower A-Arm:


Used a sharpie to mark the original spot:


Working on the ground gives you limited space. Here I used a 21mm crowfoot wrench on a 12" breaker bar. Push your leg against the tire to give you more leverage. The nut torque spec is 126 ft/lbs:


Started off at +.25 camber, set to about -.30 camber. I adjusted the toe after this as well but did not take pictures:


Fired up the iCarScan tool to calibrate the steering angle sensor:




These parameters have be met before doing the calibration:


It says operation completed:


But my dash displays a PSM failure:


Went to read the data streams and everything seems okay:


Test drove it and everything seems okay. I will report back if there are any abnormal wears on the front.
