Is this a good deal on a 2016 Panamera GTS?

Hi all,

in the marketplace for a used GTS and came across one with just under 15k miles for $88.9k. It is a 2016 model....seems to be the lowest cost one I could find. Doesn't have all the bells/whistles but is optioned ok for the price. Some include:

P45 Premium Plus package
20" sport wheels
painted side panels
parking assist/lane change
Alcantara

Your advice on this would be appreciated. I think it is a good deal...can't find one locally that is even close to this price. To be honest spending $90k for a used car is a first for me but I loved my test drive of a similar car last year and it hasn't left my mind since. A great drive...just expensive and I don't want to make a mistake here.

Regards,

Dave

P.S. You would think that if I was willing to spend almost $100k for a used Panamera that I would buy a 2017 4S model. The additional costs are just too much(figure almost $30k more to my budget with some of the options I would order)...that becomes more that I would feel comfortable spending.

Such a big change for 2017 it seems like you could find a new one for this price. I have seen a few GTS and Turbos if I recall for like $60k off MSRP. Something ridiculous. Dealers can't seem the give away the remaining ones. I would look for new.

I agree. Call around especially down in the LA area and see what kind of deals they are willing to do.

here is the VIN: WP0AF2A70GL080323...I believe the MSRP was approximately $122k. It is a CPO car with an end date of November 30, 2021. Some of the comments suggested contacting SoCAl dealers and getting a similar/better deal. I might do that although this deal seems good as it is. Any suggestions on how to get this dealer to lower their price from the $88.9 number they have now other than just asking them to do it? Thanks again for your advice..much needed and much appreciated.

Just my gut, you can do better. 15k miles is high. You can get new for that discount I think.

There is no difference between a 2014/2015/2016 GTS so if saving a few bucks is important I would look for a 14 or 15 - you can find many of them with fewer miles than the 2016 you are considering. If it was the first year of a new body style I think it would make sense on a resale standpoint to look at the newer one, but in this case I think they will lose/hold value equally since they are all Gen 1.2 cars.

I have been shopping for a GTS recently and can tell you that dealers are not discounting these $60k. If you know of one, please let me know. I have found that most dealers are discounting the GTS's $20k before any hard negotiating.

There are several of the "limited production" North American edition GTS's out there as well and they are discounting these $25k. I love the North American edition, but it adds almost $20k to the MSRP and the changes are just cosmetic, but are awesome.

For those considering a GTS like me...remember the 2016 is the last of the naturally aspirated GTS's.

BTW, I looked at a lease, and it sucks. Residual on the 2016's is terrible.

The leases on these cars were crappy back in 2014 when I bought my GTS. Can't imagine it getting any worse.

The largest discounts are probably for GTS with excess options (in my opinion). After you consider having options you don't need, the discount might not appear to be so favorable. Might do better waiting for GTS trades as the new S is rolled out.

$30k discount without even walking in. Not a limited production etc. Discount are out there on New as dealers can't get rid of them. Do your research.

here's the latest on my GTS search...Since I started this thread a week or so ago I have taken some of the feedback and called all over California for a used 2016 GTS to see if I could get a better deal. They are dealing...that is a fact but I haven't found one to my liking yet. All dealers said the deal I have for $89k is a great one and they can't match it. Most want to put me in a 2017 4S (here's their argument...why would you pay around $95k for a used car when $120+k) will get you a new 4s?). I guess to them and additional $25+k is small potatoes? To me it is a lot...I am paying cash and can wait for the right deal. BTW, I did offer $84k for the vehicle I originally mentioned in my first post...they were having none of that. So we wait...will keep you informed as this progressing. All the best, Dave

Thanks for the link and info Goin2drt. The one that is discounted $30k is a north american edition car. It looks like they may have 2 of them. Still very pricey for a GTS when it is just a cosmetic option.
