Any ability with these cars to run flex fuel?

The problem is the OEM ECU after all necessary upgrades of fuel system
flex fuel - standalone
straight e85 - OEM ecu; can have 2 maps to run regular pump too, but I wouldnt go higher than E15 or so on pump tune, so need to go almost empty before adding 93octane

With protomotive tune I don't have to change maps on e85. I can just go from low boost to high boost. I'm still on stock ecu but I don't go back to 93 octane I stay on e85.

True flex fuel you need a stand alone for the 996. You ran run e85 though with fuel system upgrades and tuning.
cobb may at some point figure out how to do it with a stock ecu but right now it's not possible. Much easier on stuff like gm that all their ecu basically since 99 have the programming built in to support flex fuel. You simple add the sensor and 1 wire into the ecu harness plug.

no flex fuel is the ability to run pump to e85 and anything between with the vehicle auto adjusting the tune to run whatever is in the tank. Running e85 is running e85. That's just a tune

second a true flex fuel.setup gives you the ability to go anywhere and not worry about fuel. Many places don't have e85. No need to load up a new tune to switch to pump gas.
also stand alone like proefi still have 5 position boost settings. Never want to run max boost unless you know you have good high ethanol content e85 in the tank. The sensor will tell you the ethanol content so you know how much boost you can safely run.
