You can get a whole e85 fuel setup for $4000 or so. Adding a flex sensor is a whole other deal with aftermarket ECU's and a lot of work.

My car can do it if a damn station would open closer! SRM fuel system, GM flexfuel sensor, ProEFI 128 standalone. Now I just need rods..

I run e85 all the time. Never again will I run 93 octane. I have a gas station down the street 1.52 a gallon. 17psi to 30psi

SRM stage 2 with all the lines done and FPR.

The problem is the OEM ECU after all necessary upgrades of fuel system

flex fuel - standalone
straight e85 - OEM ecu; can have 2 maps to run regular pump too, but I wouldnt go higher than E15 or so on pump tune, so need to go almost empty before adding 93octane

With protomotive tune I don't have to change maps on e85. I can just go from low boost to high boost. I'm still on stock ecu but I don't go back to 93 octane I stay on e85.

Lol ohh.

I think everyone should run e85. Damn I hated running low boost with 93 then run high boost with 109.

True flex fuel you need a stand alone for the 996. You ran run e85 though with fuel system upgrades and tuning.

cobb may at some point figure out how to do it with a stock ecu but right now it's not possible. Much easier on stuff like gm that all their ecu basically since 99 have the programming built in to support flex fuel. You simple add the sensor and 1 wire into the ecu harness plug.

Flex fuel is e85 you can run it all day but you need to spend 8k in parts and labor.

SRM stage 2 dual fuel pumps

Billet rails

FPR

Big injectors

-8an lines

Tune and labor

no flex fuel is the ability to run pump to e85 and anything between with the vehicle auto adjusting the tune to run whatever is in the tank. Running e85 is running e85. That's just a tune

I would not trust any sensor for that on a car that has 1000hp. Run straight e85 93 sucks anyways lol haha.

well 2 things on this. First, e85 from the pump is not always e85. I've seen stuff out of the pump as low as e55. Having the sensor ensures you are not over running what the fuel actually is.

second a true flex fuel.setup gives you the ability to go anywhere and not worry about fuel. Many places don't have e85. No need to load up a new tune to switch to pump gas.

also stand alone like proefi still have 5 position boost settings. Never want to run max boost unless you know you have good high ethanol content e85 in the tank. The sensor will tell you the ethanol content so you know how much boost you can safely run.
