anyone got new engine after 3 RMS?

I just found out that i have an RMS leak again . It's the 3rd time in 1 year. BTW i have an 02 C2, 26k miles currently. First leak at 22k, 2nd at 24k. Just out of warranty last month. Carlsen porsche at Redwood city,CA has been fixing my car since the first leak. Hopefully it'll be covered again. So back to the main question. Did any of you guys get a new engine after 3 RMS? Anyone has more than 3 leaks but still keeping the same engine?

2nd leak 24k later or 2k later? If 2k later I'd suspect poor installation.

my car has only 26k miles now. 2nd leak is at 2k later. Basically rms leak every 2k miles. They kept telling me the new seal they installed was the latest one. Well i guess even the new design doesn't work as well.

Just had my 3rd RMS repaired last week.
30,000 miles. Same engine.
Have had the car 937 days.It was the first 04 delivered. I ordered it.
I called PCNA when it was in the shop. Told them I wanted a new engine.
The 'kid' jerked me around on the phone and finally said there was nothing Porsche could do for me since it was being repaired.

As politely as you can, I would demand a new engine. 3 times seems excessive.

I just had my RMS fixed at carlsen, I hope it doesnt happen again.

The main problem is my car was just out of warranty last month. Brian at Carlsen told me that they'll definitely cover 75% of the repair and the'll contact PCNA to see if i can get it fixed at no cost. getting a new engine is like $10k and if they cover 75% i still have to pay $2.5k....well, i'll get the answer tomorrow for sure.

I would press the issue harder, maybe get PNA involved. I think its pretty nice they extended the offer they did, but this has been a continued problem since the car was under warranty. Its the same trouble ticket if you ask me, and it should not be something you take care of. Brian is a good guy, and Im sure he will try to do what he can for you but Im also sure the power he has to do something is limited. I certainly don't think this is something you should be accounted for, so I think this may just need to be raised with PNA.

more problems now. The engine case is also leaking. they are running some kind of leak tests and a PNA rep will stop by next monday to check things out. I was told that most likely i'll get a new engine but they'll need the approval from the PNA rep.

ok, no new engine, they'll install "updated" seal and bolts. I am just so amazed that porsche can come out with a new "updated" seal every couple of months. engine case leak will be fixed and the coolant tank will be replaced. Good thing is they'll replace the clutch and i'm only paying for the parts.

Are most of the RMS problems on the 3.4 or 3.6 engines? I have a year 2000
3.4 engine with 45,000 miles and have never had any leaks of any kind(knock on wood).
