My brother had gotten a ticket and gotten it dismiss when he chose to go with trial by Judge. In Houston, it seems like it is mandatory for cops to show up at trials. They sign in, but they might not wait around for the trial. When the judge called for the cop, he was not there. So, my brother told the judge that had he called his name and he wasn't there, there would have been an arrest warrant for him already. The judge agreed and dismissed his case. In my case, I was wondering if I would have a better chance at dismissal with the Judge if the cop doesnt wait around. What do you guys think? Still debating on trialing by judge or jury.
